Sta. Fe & Convention Center Blessed; Formally Opens

The Sta.Fe Resort & Convention Center-one of the most modern and pioneer mountain resort in Western Visayas held its blessings and Opening Ceremonies of their newly constructed 2-storey Cactus Convention Hall Building recently.

Usec. Salvador Sarabia Jr. of the Department of Tourism and Elenita V. Azcona-President of Sta. Fe Resort & Realty Development Corporation, Eduardo R. Villanueva-Vice-President, Directors Oscar V. Villanueva Jr., Mario Villanueva, Eugenio Villanueva and Teodoro R. Villanueva spearheaded the ceremonial cutting of ribbon, while Rev. Fr. Armando Onion administered the blessing ceremony.

In his inspirational message, Usec. Sarabia congratulated the Management and Staff of Sta.Fe Resort and Convention Center for another milestone in the history of Bacolod City. A legacy of their great grandfather Generoso Villanueva- who was a man of vision with the passion of a strong character and leadership, talents and skills in both private and in government service. “The source of our strength lies in our history and past accomplishments that unite us our individual failures that move us forward for a great success.”Usec. Sarabia pointed out.”

Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia in his message gave thanks and lauded the Villanueva Family for another Convention Hall which is a big boost to the company and that more investors will come to Bacolod City. Cactus Hall has sentimental values and its history is very significant to the lives of the Bacolodnons and it’s the beginning of the birth of our Tourism Industry in Bacolod City. Tourists always come and visit Sta.Fe Resort. In 2004 there were only 1,600 hotel rooms in Bacolod City and today there are about 2,644 hotel rooms in 5 to 6 years it has increase to 65%. Bacolod City has more Hotel Rooms than those in Iloilo City.

Eugenio Villanueva in his response stressed that the rise of the Cactus Convention Hall is in support of the family to Tourism Programs of Bacolod City. Efficient and effective delivery of services to the people and community.
